Karma farming is where a user creates another (fake) user to vote up everything that he says. It results in a banning from this site. A good example of a user that did indeed use Karma Farming was Danish. Take a look at his Karma history, kinda suspicious huh? http://lockergnome.net/users/1249/danish/reputation/
