The USB ports on the front of my computer are close to the ground so they get dirt in them. Is there a way I can clean them out?

Get a small bottle of compressed air. That is the tool of clean USB ports. Or you can try one of these! http://www.gadgetonian.com/2010/05/usb-cleaner-keeps-your-ports-squeaky-clean/

Good to use some ear pins with (if needed) alcohol, and toothpicks for the corners and the other side of the pin inputs.
Though I would remind you about the safety things one should do before you go about cleaning it, as I got my computer in a little mess back the first time I cleaned out my USB sockets.

Grab a can of compressed air. Make sure your computer is off, and keep the can upright; you don't want to freeze the connectors or break anything.
If that doesn't get it done, some q-tips dampened in rubbing alcohol should do the trick if you're careful. Use the compressed air to make sure all the alcohol is dried up.
