I still remember getting my GameBoy Color, and Pokémon: Gold for christmas when I was a child, and played it religiously for a long while. I think the last one I played through was Ruby or Fire Red (Can't remember which one came out first)

Every once and a while, I'll pick up Pokémon Red, Yellow, Gold, or Crystal again, just for the nostalgia.

I have a bunch of old episodes on a VHS too.

My dad is the one who got me started as kid. He took home a couple VHSs one day, and I got hooked. :P

The local TV station had the syndication rights before the network took them...and the station was located in the same city as VIZ media (the part licencing of the English adaption of the show)

Ha.

I don't think I ever played anything else, but Pokémon, on any of my GameBoys. xD

Yes when the gameboy's display used to be black and white. And no I don't still play I think that they are overdoing it cause you used to actually catch all the Pokémon now who the hell knows how many Pokémon there are now.

Edit: But I still know the original Pokémon song by heart. (It's amazing what a catchy theme song will do to a kid)

Yeah, the newer versions aren't very good. But playing through the old ones is still as much fun. ;)

I remember having little sleep some nights, because I would be trying to evolve a Pokémon, or beat a tough gym. :P

I can read some kanjis, really little, but mostly I figure it out after many frustrating moments XD and lately I have been seen guides on the internet but after using them theres no fun in playing it :/

That's why I usually wait until the games are released outside of Japan. :P

I'm going to have to pick up Black or White, and get back in the Pokémon game once the 3DS comes out.

I don't have a DS, and don't want to buy one, with the 3DS coming out next year. xD

Ebay might have some.

Yes when pokemon first came out I was addicted to it. I used to play it on my game boy color and then once the advaced SP came out on it. I only ever could afford the blue and gold versions though. So I borrowed the others (red, yellow, silver) from my freinds some times. For any of the other versions I was to old when they came out and never got interested in them.

I also have the pokemon stadium game for the N64.

I still have both the blue and gold versions and still play them form time to time. As a matter of fact I'm charging my gameboy advanced sp right now so I can play them again. I might even consider going on ebay and see if I can find the red and yellow ones (maybe even the silver).

I'm going to be the combo breaker here and say NO. Pokemon, to me, was something silly and stupid as a child, and now as an adult, it still is silly and stupid.

You guys are losers........ Haha just kidding I played it too. Kinda stopped playing vigorously around 10th grade, but I'm in my second year of college and actually still play leafgreen at night sometimes to help me sleep. It takes my thoughts away from everything else and puts me right to sleep.

I played a bit. My first proper game was Blue Rescue Team, before buying Pearl and then emerald to play an older. I then played all the older ones in a VBA
