I have been socially networking for mostly most of my life and I need a social network application for my Windows 7 machine. (Already got one for my Mac) I have been looking all over the internet to find one but after a while I knew that this is the best place to come to find one of these answers :P

MODERATORS - I do remember a question similar to this before but none of those work on my PC - unless it was all a dream...

Requirements:

  • One that has multiple social networkings enables like facebook and twitter which are the main ones
  • It needs to have an option so whenever I type in for facebook I don't upload to twitter as well
  • It needs to be a background application - I don't mind it on my second monitor

I also need something that can give me push notifications like on the iPhone or iPod touch or iPad - but this feature is optional

That is basically the requirements on what I want... can anyone recommend anything to me about this??

Tweetdeck is pretty good, you could also have a look at Seesmic. And @timf009, I'm pretty sure ping.fm is a web service that updates all of your statuses at once on all of your social networks.

As most people have said, TweetDeck would be the one I recommend. I use Ping.fm myself, though. I go on the actual websites (twitter.com / facebook.com) if I want to read the feeds.
