Why do people use Comic Sans all the time instead of something else? |
|
Comic Sans is the biggest abomination of a font that I have ever seen in my whole entire life. It completely lacks the sense of professionalism and maturity. My media studies teacher nearly threw a fit when someone handed in an essay they'd printed in Comic Sans. My primary school used cliché fonts for just about everything, it was driving me mad - Comic Sans for the school newsletters, I mean WTF? I adore typography - and it makes me die a little inside when anyone above the age of about 10 uses Comic Sans. What makes me even more angry is when I see it on signs and shop fronts, menus and flyers etc. If anyone uses it on a website, they don't even deserve to be on the Internet. At the moment my favourite sans-serif fonts are:

There should be no place for Comic Sans anywhere in this world, in fact - I think they should take it away from the Windows OS. |

Because they don't know what else to use. I don't think that they've ever heard of different font websites like . I mainly see amateurs and not-so-serious hobbyists using it. There's a reason why they're still amateurs... |

I don't hate it, but it doesn't look as good as some other fonts. I like very plain fonts, san serif, and clear spacing. I use myriad pro a lot, even in word, as it looks to me to be the cleanest font. I don't like some of the fancy fonts I see people use. I used to use Lucida Handwriting, and I look back now and wonder why I ever did. |

I have no idea. It's hideous and childish in my opinion. I remember though, that all my elementary school teachers used it on EVERYTHING. Probably why I hate it! |
