Every time I hear Inkjet printers claiming be more efficient with their ink than the competitors. But what about color laser printers vs inkjet? I know that black and white laser printers are better(ink/toner is cheaper to replace) than black and white printers. Is the same true for color laser printers? |

I'm honestly not sure about the price, because I know the toner cartridge costs more (no idea how much more), but it lasts longer. Also, laserjet printers themselves are more expensive because they are much faster. I would only get one if you are getting it for a business or print A LOT at home. |

Inkjet often offers a better range of colors. Color laser printers, have trouble with gradients. |

The cartridge system of inkjet printers isn't very inefficient. Every time a cartridge is replaced there is a small amount of ink left over. Color or B&W is irrelevant. Where this is certainly the case for laser printers as well, the larger reservoir makes them quite a bit more efficient right out of the gate. Efficiency while printing is a balancing act. Enough ink must to placed on the page to get vibrant colors, but not so much that the printer is waisting ink. This is what most printer companies are honing in their ink efficiency. But, when comparing from laser to inkjet, it kind'a apples to oranges. What model inkjet compared to what model laser printer? Both are going to be calibrated differently, and may have entirely different audiences. Laser printers leave less ink in their single reservoir, compared to the equivalent amount of ink in dozens of ink cartridges of an ink jet. Also, figuring in the price per page, laser printers are cheaper when you consider the high number of pages they print in offices vs. the small number home users print. |

Yes because when the cartridges run out you dont get such a mix up of colours (red for green etc.) I Much prefer Laser printers they are worth the price |
