dark_matter - anti_matter == 42?

The thing is no one knows what dark matter is... we can look into far away galixys and see how they are rotating and we can figure out how much mass we see there (this is done with rotational inertia). however the numbers dont line up, there must be more mass there that we cant see...

antimatter on the other hand we can see we have created some, in the most simplest terms its the opposite of matter... a proton has a + charge where as an anti-proton has a - charge. likewise an electron had a - charge but a positron has a - charge. in theory there should be the same amount of matter as there is antimatter, however we have a hard time finding all of it.

if you wish to learn more look up pair production and annihilation. some interesting applications of antimatter is a PET scan (positron emission tomography)

Darck matter pushes matter in to opposite direction and it can go throw normal matter. It is also the opposite of gravity. When anti matter is the opposite of matter and it fights matter distroing any matter it runs into it can not coexsist with matter meaning that you can only have matter or anti matter

Chubby Galaxy Cluster Suggests Dark Energy Was Stronger Long Ago

Astronomers have created a new, incredibly detailed map of dark matter by using the Hubble Space Telescope to peer through a huge cluster of galaxies as if it were a cosmic magnifying glass.

Though invisible, dark matter makes its presence known through its gravitational tug on normal stuff. Scientists now calculate that dark matter could make up 80 percent of all the matter in the universe.

The new dark matter map could reveal secrets not just about dark matter, but about its equally enigmatic sibling, dark energy. This is the name given to the perplexing force that is pulling against gravity, causing the universe to balloon in size ever more rapidly. New map of dark matter

This map of the dark matter around the galaxy cluster Abell 1689 shows structures of mass, outlined with colored contour lines within the central area. Galaxies are marked with pink squares. Yahoo related article > Scientists claim breakthrough in antimatter hunt | GENEVA – Scientists claimed a breakthrough Thursday in solving one of the biggest riddles of physics, successfully trapping the first "anti-atom" in a quest to understand what happened to all the antimatter that has vanished since the Big Bang ... more

"... Photo released by CERN on Thursday, Nov 18, 2010 shows an image taken by the ALPHA annihilation detector showing untrapped antihydrogen atoms annihilating on the inner surface of the ALPHA trap. The events are concentrated at the electrode radius of about 22.3 mm. Scientists at the world's biggest physics lab said they have achieved a breakthrough in the hunt for antimatter. An international team of physicist at the European Organization for Nuclear Research near Geneva say they created an entire atom made of antimatter and then for the first time managed to hold onto it.… Read more » (AP Photo/CERN) ..."
