Why would you buy one of them, and would you prefer capacity or speed? |
i would buy a SSD if they were cheaper, otherwise i would just get the faster RPM hard drive i could find. |
If the price came down a little i would most certainly invest money into a SSD. But at the moment, no. Too expensive. |
If I had a lot of money to spare, maybe. But until they get cheaper I stick with the good old normal HDD :) They are fast enough for me, for now! |
I would buy and ssd if I had the money because it's faster, but there is a compromise for both price and speed check out the Seagate Momentus XT |
Ideally I would like to have an SSD with 500GB of storage but that seems too far away in time so for me the best solution right now is to boot and have all the commonly used programs on the SSD and just use an HDD as storage for files. |
i would get an ssd because they are alot faster, but if it were less than 200 gb then i would not get one |
I would get an SSD if I were using a video editing application like LiveType which needs to access a lot of files at once. After I am done that project, I would probably just move the files to an external hard drive (or another drive in my computer) that has a lot of space to store the files. |
If I have the money for an SSD and I need very good performance I will go for it. If not I will get a HDD :) |
I would not buy an SSD solely because of faster speed, less heat, less noise or less power consumption. There would have to be some other restriction, eg. I want a fast laptop. I would buy an SSD for a laptop, because it is difficult to get that sort of speed any other way while keeping portability (eg. ease to carry around) optimal. For a desktop computer, if I wanted speed I'd go for a set of 1TB HDDs and get competitive speed with greater capacity for the same price. |

I prefer SSD because it's more powerful and faster than a normal HDD. Also can depend on your taste and what your going to be using it for.
