How do you pay for Torrents, Are you sure that your friend did not just tell you that he did? I feel this is a illegal discussion...

In fact I've downloaded a film before and it just showed me a clip instead of the full film. The file size was 700MB as well. I'm not saying this is 100% correct but the film might just be clip.

Yep thats what happens however my mate downloaded that player with the same file he used and it played its like they locked the file for that player only

  1. Torrents are not illegal unless the person using them is sharing something illegal.
  2. I've seen problems like this before, the best thing to do is just download a different share, or look at comments before downloading.

It seems strange to me that your friend download films off a torrent website but still managed to pay for them somehow.

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think you're permitted to talk about torrents here on the site. (I'm not a 100% sure since I can't access the rules page).

However, I recommend you download VLC Player to play your films. VLC Media Player

It Wont Work , And He Pays To Use The Torrents I Dont Know He Just Asked Me , I Get The Same Thing On Multiple Players Asking Me To Download Another player just to play this film its like then have locked it some how to only play on there software if thats even possible

Sounds like your friend is getting some dodgy torrents to me. I'd recommend downloading them from a different site or a different uploader. I haven't come across a video format of my own that will not play on VLC to date.

there not dodgey its just that he needs that program to watch it , some what of an advertising scam i think for a company to boost there sales the player costs 5 pounds or sommit , he paid it and it works, however he got a different one and it requires a different player for the same price . so are they locking the files to there players ?

Looks like that's what they're doing, looks like a scam. I'd recommend you download them from a different source.

Buying films from a torrent site isn't likely legal, no. Sounds to me like your friend goes to one of those dodgy places, pays a very low price (instead of the amount the movies SHOULD cost) and then gets a borked file in return. Not cool.

This discussion is closed. Your friend's file isn't legal, and we're not going to help him figure out how to watch it.
